    I thought I was a total noob when it comes to music theory, but I think when he mentions improvisation, the English translator means when you play F left, you can play
    either
    - F minor pentatonic scale or;
    - A flat major(!) pentatonic scale

    since these two are the same. The A flat minor scale is different!
